The word Liturgy comes from the Greek λειτουργία, which is translated as action of the people. According to paragraph 1069 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the word "liturgy" "means" public work "," his service in favor of the people ". In the Christian tradition, it means that the people of God take part in the "work of God". Through the liturgy, Christ, our Redeemer and High Priest, continues in his Church, with it and for it, the work of our redemption ”. Christ continues to bring salvation to a sinful humanity. The Catholic Scout Liturgy (C.S.L) is inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours, which is one of the ways the Church uses to experience the mystery of the passion, death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the daily, weekly and annual rhythm of time. For that, we will use in the C.S.L the prayers of the saints of the Church and the praying experience of Catholic Christians of all times. Saint Augustine says that prayer is the key that opens the doors of heaven to us, so St. Paul exhorts us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), as he knows praying makes us citizens of heaven. For this reason, I present to all scouts in the world the C.S.L, which is a very simple Liturgy to pray, you`ll need the: Sacred Scripture (Bible). It will be another way of finding the way to sanctification, because daily you will meditate on the word of God and he will carry out the prayers of the great saints of the Church, thus effecting the action of the people in the “work of God”. Therefore, this Liturgy is the most efficient way of maintaining unity and communion among all the Catholic Scouts around the world, because as Saint Matthew says, because where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in their midst.
